A short statement on the support for mobile network modems or cellular network modems in emteria.OS
emteria.OS does not support any mobile network modems out of the box, but for common modems support can be added in a custom Android image.
The Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which is the base of emteria.OS, doesn't come with support for any mobile network modems either. If a certain modem manufacturers supports Android, they provide the necessary Linux drivers and Android RIL / HAL, which need to be integrated into AOSP. The Android RILs are mutual exclusive and there is no generic solution available which we could add by default. We have integrated modem drivers in the past and offer custom images as NRE.
