How to clone SD cards on Windows

You can activate several devices by flashing and cloning your SD card. This article explains how to clone your SD card on Windows.

Note: You will need to undertake a couple of steps beforehand. Take a look at our tutorial.

  1. Insert the SD card into your PC, through a USB or a built-in card reader.
  2. In our example, we use the open-source tool Win32DiskImager.
  3. In the Device section, top right corner, select the drive of your SD card.
    In our example it is: F:.

  4. Write the backup location and file name in the Image File section or select it by clicking the folder icon. Here the image file will be saved.
    In our example: E:/emteriaBackup.img.
  5. Click Read and wait for the Success message.

  6. Insert a new SD card into your PC and open Win32DiskImager.
  7. Select the image file you created previously and the drive with the SD card in the Device section.
    In our example it is: F:.
  8. Click Write.

  9. This process will take a while, depending on the size of the SD card.
  10. Wait for the Success message.
